Dr. Jeff Elias, Ph.D., President, Global Compensation and Human Capital Management Expert
Jeff has over 25 years of experience in Global Compensation Management, covering all aspects of executive compensation, including Board, Executive, Sales, Incentive, Deferred Compensation, Stock Option/grant packages, and Phantom Stock Schemes. His expertise extends to all areas of Human Capital Management and mandated Compliance programs throughout the US, Canada, EMEA, APAC, and MENA.
Throughout his career, Jeff has held management and executive positions at HR Consulting, Staffing, Technology, and Financial Services firms, ranging from start-ups to high-growth companies and established industry leaders. He has served as Sr. VP of HR & Compensation/Payroll at Remedy Staffing, Westaff, and Accenture (Savista); Sr. VP of HR and Compensation at Oracle (Quovera); and VP of Global Compensation at Adecco.
His comprehensive knowledge of HCM and Compensation intricately covers the areas outlined under the HCM and Total Rewards (TR) & Compensation tabs, respectively. Additionally, Jeff is an adjunct professor in the Human Resources and Organizational Development Master’s Degree Program at the University of San Francisco, primarily teaching Graduate Statistics. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resources from The Ohio State University, an M.Ed. from John Carroll University, and a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati. Jeff is also a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Karen Clarke, MBA, CHRP, HCM Vice President
Karin has over 25 years of experience in people management and executive roles within Technology, Financial, and Service Firms. Her career focuses on onboarding, full life cycle recruiting, performance management, professional/personal development, and enhancing employee engagement.
Having held many of these roles herself, Karin knows the experience, background, temperament, and drive needed for individuals to thrive in the workplace. Her previous positions include SVP of Operations at TRS Staffing (Oil & Gas, Canada/USA), VP of HR at Chase Bank, Regional VP of Marketing & HR at Blue Crew Technology, VP of Operations at Westaff, and VP of Franchise Sales and Operations at Remedy.
Karin’s proven methods for identifying the necessary talent, along with her vast network of professionals, equip her with some of the most effective marketing, recruiting, and sales methodologies. This enables her to attract and engage top talent tailored to specific business needs, markets, and geographies, all while being timely and cost-effective.
Sally Field, MBA, CHRP, CBM, VP, HCM
Sally, holding an MBA with honors from Aurora University and a BA degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University, is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Certified Business Manager (CBM). Furthermore, she is a licensed educator in Minnesota and has previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. Sally develops customized training workshops and coaching sessions to meet clients' specific developmental needs.
As a highly experienced facilitator, she effectively utilizes the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, AchieveGlobal (formerly Zenger-Miller), Mobius Coaching Model, and Accelements Adult Learning frameworks. Sally is a former Board member of the St. Croix Valley Employers’ Association and the WI State SHRM Council. She is also affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Additionally, she has served for 15 years as the Collegiate Chapter Adviser for the Gamma Phi chapter of Sigma Sigma located at UWRF.
Christopher David, MBA, MS - VP, HR Technology
Christopher is a distinguished Technology Professional with extensive experience in HR software development, solution architecture, and product management across platforms like SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, and Workday.
He is instrumental in setting strategy and leading teams to develop, uphold, and integrate best practices and technology standards in compensation management and human capital management. Christopher creates project communication plans aligned with knowledge transfer and assists clients in executing application development programs while implementing disciplined standards, policies, and practices. He also manages client team members involved in project management, including developing project plans, resource assignments, progress tracking, and quality assurance.
He has an MS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. With 15 years of IT experience encompassing information, data management, technology/computer-related fields, and social media, Christopher is proficient in Salesforce and Salesforce Financial Services platforms. Previously, he held positions as Director of Special Projects at Oracle and Director of IT Development at Quovera.
Dr. Bruce Growick, Ph.D., VP, Compliance, Professor Emeritus, The Ohio State University
Dr. Bruce Growick is a retired Professor of Rehabilitation Services at The Ohio State University, where he taught courses, advised students, and conducted research in workers’ safety, disability determination, and vocational rehabilitation for over 30 years. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin and Columbia University, he has published extensively on rehabilitation, particularly focused on the rehabilitation of injured workers.
During a two-year leave of absence from The Ohio State University (1989-1990), Dr. Growick served as the Director of the Rehabilitation Division of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. He was also appointed by President Bush to the U.S. Access Board (2002-2006). As a former editor of the Journal of Forensic Vocational Analysis, the official publication of the American Board of Vocational Experts, he is a past president of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and serves as a vocational expert for various federal and state agencies, including local courts. Notably, Dr. Growick's body of work includes several publications in rehabilitation and workers' compensation, and he is a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Council on Rehabilitation Education.
Corey A. Purkat, MS, VP HCM - Financial Planning, AIF® Certified Financial Planner
Corey, who holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from Winona State University and a Master’s degree in Financial Planning from Oklahoma State University, is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) dedicated to putting clients' interests first.
With over eight years of experience in managing various deferred/retirement plans such as 401(k), 403(b), 457 plans, RRSP, DPSP, and TFSA, he has successfully helped clients improve their recruiting efforts, increase efficiencies, reduce health and extended health insurance costs, and monitor fiduciary responsibilities that come with inherent risks. Corey is actively involved in the Financial Planner’s Association - Minnesota Chapter, serving as a committee member on NexGen, a group focused on promoting the practice of financial planning to the next generation.
Mat Turaani, Director, Global Total Rewards
Mat is a skilled Global Total Rewards Consultant with comprehensive expertise in full-scale compensation management, including job description development, evaluations, market benchmarking, compensation structures, and ensuring internal/external equity. He is a seasoned Equity Administrator for private firms and Pre-IPO companies with a focus on sectors like Oil & Gas, SaaS, Technology, and Healthcare.
With significant experience as an interim executive/consultant in equity administration and executive compensation design, Mat excels at analyzing and crafting equity schemes for privately held firms, including ESPP, ESOP, ISO/NSO Stock, Phantom Stock, stock grants, SARs, and RSUs. He conducts equity valuations, performs equity-related filings, and ensures compliance for the SEC and CSA, covering items such as 10Ks and 409A Valuations.
Mat develops job descriptions, evaluates positions using point-factor systems and market benchmarking, and creates tailored salary structures. Proficient in various HR platforms including ADP, PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, and several business intelligence analysis tools, Mat's analytical skills are leveraged in developing robust compensations strategies.
